Opening Day @Nationals Stadium
It's been announced that the Nats will host the Atlanta Braves in a Sunday night game, March 30, 2008. This will be a season-opening game the night before the nominal "opening day," and will be broadcast on ESPN. And, of course, it will be the inaugural game in our new stadium.

I have no idea how many single-game tickets will be available for this game, or when they will go on sale... but I'll be on the look out for announcements.

If anyone is interested in a Riverdale Park excursion to the game, contact me off list. I doubt we'd have enough people for a group discount, but at least we could maybe get seats together. --Dwight Holmes 12/18/07





RP Community Sports

Let's see if any RP sports fans find their way to this page with no PR campaign whatsoever. I've no idea if there's a demand for a local virtual "sports bar" or not... My suggestion we organize an RP Night Out at a Nats game went over like a lead balloon last season... Maybe with the new stadium in '08 it will be different? Time will tell.

Anyway, this page is a placeholder. If you've gotten this far and you're so inclined, take up the reins and go with it!

At the very least, please show where your team allegiance(s) lie by responding to the fan poll at right.

There must be local youth and adult teams or leagues some of which could use an online home on the Wiki to post their schedules, standings, and announcements? Feel free to use the space -- that's what it's here for. I created a dummy page for that (link above and here: RP Community Sports).
