I confess I created this wiki because I think Riverdale Park is as good and deserves as good as Hyattsville! (If you haven't seen the Hyattsville wiki, check it out: http://www.hyattsvillewiki.com/) And because while a lot of good questions and ideas and information are posted to our Town Talk email list, I believe that medium suffers from a severe case of "out-of-sight-out-of-mind" syndrome. Topics come and go, but are then as good as lost in the ether... Sure, the archives are there, but it's anything but user-friendly to find something there. Also, the number of readers is said to be low. In any case, Town Talk will continue as it should and it serves a very important purpose. But not all purposes, and I'm hoping a Riverdale Park wiki will fulfill some of the other needs of the community. Time will tell, of course! I have degrees in religious studies, social studies education, and the economics of education, and am particularly interested these days in issues of tax fairness and economic development. I lived a third of my first 40 years in Nepal and India. I like numbers: data are our friends! I have a serious relationship with Indian and Thai food; I'm a devoted fan of music of many (not all!) genres and am a former musician myself; I'm a bit of history buff, a lifelong Cubs fan and recent (but devoted!) Nats fan. I love the bike trails in our area, and absolutely can't wait til the Trolley Trail connects us north and south with a bike-ped-friendly alternative to Route 1. --Dwight Holmes, Ward 1 resident
